If they had less than 150 stress before retreat and died of a heart attack afterwards, then something fishy is definitely going on. I was wondering if The Shambler made his way into Darkest Dungeon 2, and the answer was a terrifying yes. Its the only miniboss in the game I absolutely despise designwise. The Shambler in all its forms is easily the former. But there is a fine line between being blatantly obnoxious and giving the player a chance to actually try and manage the risks and attacks. I waited until the surprise round was over before I tried to retreat. I very much like the concept of a very harsh unforgiving game. I'm pretty sure the first guy was at 180 when he dropped. It's possible that if you retreated from the Shambler at 180 stress, for example, you guaranteed a heart attack. ![]() There's a huge stress penalty for retreating combat now.
